The SANROCK Automatic Rod Changing Mining Drilling Rig is a fully integrated surface mining drilling rig built around excellent structural integrity and a compact design architecture. Engineered for demanding open-pit and quarry operations, this rotary drilling rig combines a high degree of automation with an optional automatic rod changing system, allowing a single operator to complete an entire drilling cycle - dramatically reducing labour cost and eliminating the manual rod handling that traditionally exposes crews to the most hazardous part of the operation.
At the core of this drilling machine is a powerful feeding and rotation design purpose-built for complex rock conditions. The matched feed force and high rotation torque work together to minimise rod jamming in fractured, interbedded and hard rock strata, sustaining a consistently high penetration rate where conventional rock drill units stall or require repeated intervention. Precise boom positioning and automated rod handling allow the rig to hit designed hole positions accurately and repeatably, so blast patterns are executed to plan rather than to approximation.
Flexible manoeuvrability and full-range boom articulation let the rig easily cope with all kinds of drilling angle requirements across varied landscapes - from level benches to sloped, uneven and confined working faces - without repositioning the entire machine for every hole.
